ADD International

ADD International is a highly ambitious, innovative and successful values-driven organisation. We are a disability rights charity fighting for independence, equality and opportunity for disabled people living in poverty in Africa and Asia.

Since 1985, we’ve been a key ally to the disability movement - working in areas of extreme poverty alongside disabled people’s organisations run by disability activists at a local and national level, supporting them with the tools and resources to build powerful movements for change.

Supporting our ambition to become the expert agency on disability and development is our dedicated staff team of approximately 100 people.  Headquartered in the UK, we work in five countries across Africa and Asia: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Uganda, Tanzania and Sudan.

The joint efforts of a relatively small group of organisations, including ADD International, culminated in the inclusion of disability issues in the Sustainable Development Goals of 2015. With the spotlight of governments and other key stakeholders firmly focused on the historically neglected area of disability rights in international development, there has never been a greater time of opportunity for ADD International to increase its impact.

We now seek a new Chief Executive who will be responsible for setting and delivering the vision alongside our Board of Trustees.  The right candidate will have the experience to lead and develop the organisation and its goals in a wider environment of constant change. They will be a values driven, inspiring leader with proven experience of shaping organisational vision and strategy and delivering outstanding operational results in a complex stakeholder and partnership focused context.  They will likely have a significant track record as a leader, working with and through others in an area of human rights or international development.  With exceptional communication and ambassadorial skills, they will demonstrate passion and understanding of the work and ethos of ADD and be excited to be an advocate for the ending of social exclusion and poverty for those with disability.

We are keen to promote strong principles of equality and diversity and would welcome applications from all backgrounds. Disabled people are strongly encouraged to apply.
