FAIRMED is a Swiss development organisation, committed to providing access to health care for neglected, disease and poverty affected people in Africa and Asia.
The main focus of FAIRMED’s work is combating neglected tropical diseases such as leprosy and Buruli ulcer, facilitating access for people with disabilities to care-structures and supporting the provision of healthcare to marginalised communities.
FAIRMED with the head office based in Bern, Switzerland operates through regional offices in Cameroon, Central African Republic, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal with exclusively local expert staff and collaborates with local partners on site. Together with its partner organisations, FAIRMED seeks to empower disadvantaged people – irrespective of religious denomination, gender, social or political affiliation – to claim their basic right on access to health.
